Trump dice que la libertad llegará a Cuba, en discurso ante la ONU

NUEVA YORK.- El presidente Donald Trump dijo que Cuba era un Estado ‌fallido y que la libertad llegaría a ‌la isla gobernada por los comunistas en un discurso pronunciado ​el martes ante la ONU, en el que abogó por una mayor implicación de Estados Unidos en la región.

«Mi Gobierno también busca un cambio ‌fundamental en la ⁠situación de Cuba, donde el régimen comunista se encuentra bajo una gran ⁠presión -la mayor a la que se ha visto sometido jamás-. Es un Estado absolutamente fallido, está ​fracasando como ​nunca antes y ​caerá», dijo Trump en su ‌discurso ante la Asamblea General de la ONU.

«El comunismo nunca llegará a Estados Unidos, pero la libertad sí llegará a Cuba».

La delegación cubana abandonó la sala de la Asamblea General de ‌la ONU durante la intervención ​de Trump.

Estados Unidos ha mantenido ​por más de ​60 años un embargo comercial ‌contra Cuba y el gobierno ​de Trump ​ha intensificado la presión sobre la isla, controlada por el Partido Comunista, tras recurrir al ​ejército en ‌enero para derrocar al presidente venezolano Nicolás ​Maduro.
Trump acapara la atención en la Asamblea General de la ONU

Los líderes mundiales se reunieron este martes en la sede de Naciones Unidas en Nueva York para abordar los principales desafíos globales, en un contexto marcado por guerras, divisiones y la creciente preocupación por el alcance de la inteligencia artificial.

El presidente de Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, acaparó la atención desde su llegada y durante un discurso seguido con especial interés. El mandatario amenazó con utilizar la fuerza militar en Latinoamérica si considera que los intereses de Estados Unidos están en riesgo.

«Estados Unidos ya no permitirá que las amenazas contra el país se afiancen en ningún lugar del continente americano. Y, si es necesario, utilizaremos nuestro poderío militar sin igual para proteger los intereses nacionales de Estados Unidos», declaró.
